The summer associate program at Stoel Rives LLP is our most important source for attorney hiring. Approximately 20-25 law students are hired each year for summer work in our offices in Portland, Seattle, Salt Lake City, Boise, and Sacramento. Although the majority have completed their second year of law school, we do hire a few who have completed only one year. It is our practice to rely on the summer associate program to satisfy the majority of the firm's entry level hiring needs. The summer program at Stoel Rives is consistently regarded as one of the best.

The purpose of Stoel Rives’ summer associate program is to provide students with a realistic view of practicing law at Stoel Rives. Our summer associates work on real projects for real clients. They meet with clients and attend strategy sessions, contract negotiations, closings and board meetings. They draft documents, write briefs and help prepare for depositions, trials and arbitrations.
